with their combined total of 54 years in the music business, and featuring a private performance and Q&A with special guest artist Matthew Perryman Jones,
the Artist And retreat experience is different from most songwriting retreats.
This is an intimate, community-first ecosystem that prioritizes creative growth and personal wellbeing equally. We have been around long enough to know firsthand that being prolific or popular at the cost of your inner or outer health is not sustainable. We seek to model a holistic and mindful approach to the artist life.
Nicole and Christa facilitate conversations throughout the weekend that will expand your understanding of your options as a vocational songwriter.

our first four applicants will be part of a cowrite with either Christa Wells or Nicole Witt during the retreat.
WHO IS THIS RETREAT FOR?
This particular retreat is a great fit for intermediate level and up songwriters. No performance experience is required, but some instrumental skill (guitar, piano or voice) is helpful.
This retreat is open to all genders, with the shared rooms are reserved for woman and the private bedrooms open to anyone (while availability lasts).

our writers, we use a simple application process.

WHERE
Escape the distractions and noise of the city and suburbs for a long weekend at Stone Meadow--68 private acres in Lebanon, Tennessee, just one hour from downtown Nashville and 45 minutes from the airport. Lebanon proper has a growing downtown worth exploring in your free time, but you may be so consumed by the beauty of the land, trees and river that you won't want to leave!
MEALS
All meals will be nutritious and delicious and are included in your Room Cost. If you have a food allergy, please make us aware as soon as possible, so we can accommodate your needs.

ROOM OPTIONS:
There are seven beds (in four bedrooms) on the second floor of the family house. Bedrooms are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please let us know your preference at the time of application:
Private Room (shared bath) - $650
Shared Room (shared bath) - $450
Two full bathrooms are shared by guests in the sleeping areas, plus a half bathroom on the lower level.
*We also have FIVE SPOTS available for songwriters who wish to join us for retreat activities and meals but sleep off-site. The Retreat Ticket + $85 for meals will apply.
A deposit of $100 is required with application and will be applied toward your balance, or refunded if we do not have a spot for you. We will respond to your application within 48 hours, and if a space is available for you, you will have seven days to reserve your spot with 25% of your balance. The remainder of your balance is due October 1 and can be paid in installments or all at once--whatever works for you.
Deposits are non-refundable.
